Police Apprehend Alleged Kidnapper, Seize Weapons in Kaduna

The Kaduna Police Command arrested a 35-year-old man (identity not disclosed) for suspected kidnapping in the state. During a raid at the suspect’s residence, the police also seized weapons and ammunition. This information was shared in a statement by ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command spokesperson, on Friday in Kaduna.

Hassan mentioned that the CP Monitoring Unit officers apprehended the suspect on February 29 at his home in Ganga Uku village, Mararaban Jos. According to him, the officers discovered a fabricated cartridge revolver rifle, a fabricated pistol, two Dane guns, six live cartridges, one discharged GPRG ammunition, seven discharged cartridges, and a blood-stained cutlass during the operation.

The police spokesperson stated that on February 13, the suspect, along with accomplices who are currently at large, abducted a 40-year-old man named Samaila Abdullahi from the Keke Kingdom area of Mararaban Jos. “The victim was forcefully taken to an unknown destination,” he added.

The suspect is currently in police custody. Hassan emphasized that “this successful operation underscores the overall commitment of the police command, led by Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ali Dabigi C, to maintain law and order in Kaduna State.”
