Reasons Why I'm Taking a Break from Acting Next Year – Timini Egbuson

Popular Nollywood star Timini Egbuson has agreed to take a hiatus from the movie industry next year. Speaking on a recent podcast interview with content creator Kamsi Nnamani, Timini opened up about his rigorous work schedule spanning 14 years, during which he has had minimal sleep and breaks.

He confessed to averaging only six hours of sleep daily, stating, “I only rest when I go out at night. I only sleep five to six hours a day. And then keep the work going. But next year I’m going on a sabbatical. I have been acting for the past fourteen years consistently. There has never been a downtime or a time when I’m just chilling. And I did not say that with pride. I say that with all humility. It has just been God.”

Timini attributed his entry into acting to accompanying his sister, actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande, to sets. Initially serving as a protective sibling, he gradually developed a passion for acting.

His acting journey began in 2010 with his role in Tinsel, an M-Net soap opera. Since then, he has appeared in various successful films, such as Breaded Life, Elevator Baby, Introducing the Kuju’s, Dinner At My Place, and A Tribe Called Judah.
