First Lady Encourages Youth to Maintain Faith in Nigeria, Promises Rebirth of a New Nation

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to maintain faith in the country’s potential, assuring them that Nigeria will experience a revitalization, positioning itself among the esteemed nations of the world. Speaking at an event themed “Honouring the Youth of Our Nation” to mark the first anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, held at the State House Conference Center in Abuja, Senator Tinubu emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for youth participation in national development.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu highlighted the significance of education in achieving personal and national success, underscoring the importance of purpose, passion, determination, and resilience. She assured that her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), aims to complement President Tinubu’s education, agriculture, social investment, and economic empowerment efforts.

Encouraging youths to stay focused on their education, Senator Tinubu stressed the importance of finishing school to expand their opportunities in a developing country like Nigeria. She expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future and urged everyone to continue believing in the country’s potential.

Senator Tinubu commended exemplary youth achievers such as Tunde Onakoya, a Chess Master who dedicated himself to empowering vulnerable children through chess, and Second Lt. Princess Oluchukwu Owowoh, the first Nigerian woman commissioned from the esteemed Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK, for breaking barriers in the military.

The First Lady also praised Hauwa Shakir, a budding fashion designer, and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a tech visionary and innovator, for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields. She lauded their relentless pursuit of excellence and groundbreaking initiatives shaping Nigeria’s brighter future.

Moreover, Senator Tinubu highlighted the ongoing #ONE NIGERIA/Unity Fabric competition, encouraging Nigerian youths aged 15-25 to participate. With a star prize of N25 million, she urged youths to seize the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity.

Dr. Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, the Minister of Youth, reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth development and applauded Senator Tinubu for her dedication to empowering youths. She encouraged youths to continue striving for excellence, emphasizing the importance of unity, hope, and progress for Nigeria’s future.
