A group of youths, operating under the banner of Kalabari True Patriots, has expressed commendation for the peaceful approach of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, towards the political crisis in the state, despite their differing political affiliations.
The socio-political group praised Governor Fubara for continuing the projects initiated by Wike, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring uninterrupted development in the state despite political disparities. The group’s chairman, Alamboye Duke, conveyed these sentiments during a press conference held in Port Harcourt.
In his statement, Duke urged all aggrieved youths in the state, affected by the political impasse between Fubara and Wike, to set aside their differences and support both leaders with constructive ideas that would contribute to the state’s progress rather than incite panic.
The chairman of the Kalabari True Patriots also called on Governor Fubara to uphold an inclusive government that does not discriminate based on age or social status. Duke emphasized the significance of the governor’s dedication to continuing projects from previous administrations, seeing it as a commitment to building on the foundations laid by his predecessors and ensuring the seamless development of the state.
He stated, “The governor’s dedication to continuing unfinished projects from previous administrations reflects a commitment to building on the foundations laid by his predecessors, ensuring that the state’s development remains uninterrupted. For all supporters, let’s sheathe our sword and not create panic, but rather support Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara with ideas that will move Rivers State forward.”
The youths stressed their commitment to fostering peace and inclusivity for the state’s and its residents’ betterment. They urged Governor Fubara to sustain his developmental efforts, focusing on creating an environment conducive to thriving socio-economic activities in Rivers State.
Established in 2017, the Kalabari True Patriots is a socio-political group founded by individuals from Asalga, Delga, and Akulga councils of Rivers State. The group’s primary goal is to promote peace and progress within the state.
