Why it's Essential for the Federal Government to Support Local Manufacturers — Expert

A specialist in the building and construction industry, Mr. Patrick Agbaza, has emphasized the significance of Federal Government support for local manufacturers. Agbaza, the Managing Director of Pazino Transnational Integrated Services, believes such support is crucial to achieving President Bola Tinubu’s vision for human capital development.

Speaking at the Homex Exhibition with the theme “Sustainability of Home Interior Design in West Africa,” Agbaza highlighted the necessity for Federal and state government backing. He asserted that the private sector alone cannot fulfill these goals, pointing out that foreign companies and exhibitors from China, Turkey, and India succeed because of support from their home governments.

Agbaza expressed, “If Nigeria extends similar support by sponsoring private firms to participate in foreign exhibitions, it will boost our feasibility and enhance product market penetration. International exhibitors from Turkey, China, and India are present here because their governments provide support and incentives.”

The organizer of Homex, Mr. Paul Olugbade, also the Managing Director of Atlantic Exhibition Ltd, explained that the exhibition focuses on home interiors, interior design, and decorations. The goal is to connect product manufacturers with distributors and local representatives. Olugbade stated, “Homex is an international exhibition where manufacturers showcase their products, engage with distributors, and network to establish partnerships across borders.”
