Police Detain Two for Sheltering Alleged Kidnapper in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended two individuals for allegedly providing shelter to a suspected kidnapper and armed robber in the Gumel Local Government Area of the state. The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the arrests in a statement released in Dutse on Tuesday.

The two suspects, aged 40 and 30, were reportedly arrested by the Command’s operatives on December 13 at Tseme village in Gumel. According to Shiisu, the duo is accused of harboring the suspected kidnapper and armed robber, who is currently on the run and is a top priority on the Command’s wanted list.

Preliminary investigations indicate that one of the suspects used his motorcycle to transport the fleeing suspect whenever he entered the village. The spokesperson noted that the arrested suspects will face charges in court once the investigation is completed. Additionally, efforts are underway to intensify the search for and apprehension of the fugitive suspect.
