Ohanaeze, Nigerian Army meet over South-East security

The President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo George Obiozo, has commended the Nigerian Army for its role in restoring peace to the South-East.

Obiozor spoke in Enugu when he hosted the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja on Wednesday.

“Without peace nations cannot progress and without the Armed Forces, there will have more problems”, he said.

The former diplomat described the Nigerian Army among the best in Africa and charged troops to continue to do safeguard the nation.

In his remarks, Lagbaja called the Ohanaeze Ndigbo a major stakeholder in the country.

The GOC commended the leadership for the pronouncement against threats and violence by the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB).

Lagbaja assured the South-East people of safety and warned those planning to cause further chaos to have a rethink.
