Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Isiguzoro Denies Demanding Money from Iwuanyanwu

Former National President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has refuted allegations of soliciting money from the organization’s President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. The denial comes in response to Iwuanyanwu’s assertions following a National Executive Council meeting of Ohanaeze in Enugu.

At the conclusion of the said meeting, Iwuanyanwu disclosed Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s decision to submit the names of dissident groups led by Isiguzoro, who claims to be the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to Imeobi. Iwuanyanwu further accused Isiguzoro of persistently demanding a large sum of money and issuing statements contrary to Ohanaeze’s stance.

In his defense, Isiguzoro dismissed Iwuanyanwu’s claims as an attempt to tarnish his reputation unjustly. Isiguzoro challenged Iwuanyanwu to provide evidence of the alleged demand for money, stressing the need to substantiate such serious allegations.

Isiguzoro also highlighted Iwuanyanwu’s failure to address key issues affecting Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Igbo community, suggesting a pattern of avoidance on Iwuanyanwu’s part.

In his words, Isiguzoro stated, “Iwuanyanwu accused me of demanding money from him to step down from my position as the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. This is akin to giving a dog a bad name to hang it… I challenge him to substantiate his claim by providing evidence of how and where I demanded money.”

The exchange underscores the tensions within Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the need for transparent resolution of internal disputes for the organization’s unity and effectiveness.
