Anambra-born tycoon Chief Osondu Nwoye has tragically passed away while attending the Super Eagles match against the South African national team. Nwoye, the wealthiest Igbo businessman based in Ivory Coast, met an untimely demise during the football spectacle.
The news of his passing was disclosed by billionaire businessman Obianna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, through an Instagram post on Thursday. Expressing his disbelief, Obi Cubana pondered the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the death and remarked that Wednesday’s match had claimed the lives of some esteemed individuals.
Obi Cubana fondly described Osondu Nwoye as an exceptional human being, highlighting that he had hosted them just last Sunday, a mere few days before the sudden demise. Reports indicate that Nwoye was excited, cheering loudly when Nigerian striker Victor Osihmen scored the second goal. Regrettably, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) subsequently annulled the goal.
It is alleged that the shock of witnessing the goal cancellation and a penalty awarded to South Africa proved too much for Nwoye’s delicate heart, leading to his collapse inside the stadium. Following the incident, he was promptly rushed to the hospital, but despite all efforts to revive him, he was ultimately pronounced dead.
