Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB activates Ghost Towns in BiafraLand till leader regains Freedom

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra is very much aware of the strategy of the Fulani Government of Nigeria to subject the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Media Trial and to convict him in the public before giving that public conviction an official stamp of the compromised Nigerian Judicial system.

The global community knows that Self Determination is not a crime, the Nigerian government knows equally that Self Determination does not constitute any known offence stipulated in their constitution and therefore do not have any case against the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

In recognition of the above Facts and Truth, the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra demand herewith an unconditional and immediate release of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on or before the 8a of August 2021 failing which we shall commence a weekly LOCK DOWN OF MAFRALAND starting on Monday the 9th of August 2021.

For the avoidance of doubt this total lock down of Biafraland will take place every Monday until our leader is released unconditionally. This weekly lock down is simply one of the measures we shall put in place to ensure that our leader is released hale and hearty.

To all the governors in Biafraland and to all those who are complicit in the abduction of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra from Kenya to Nigeria, those of you who contributed money for the Fulani government of Nigeria to enable them kidnap our leader, pray fervently that his health is not endangered and nothing untoward happens to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because then the land of Biafra shall not accommodate you and the Biafran people.

We affirm our readiness to do all that is necessary to secure the immediate release of our leader. It is completely unacceptable to the Indigenous People of Biafra to allow our leader to remain in the hands of the enemy up to October 2021.

There’s Likelihood Of Britain’s Connivance In Trial Of Nnamdi Kanu – IPOB Leader’s Lawyer

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said that the British authorities are not rendering enough help to his client who was picked up in Kenya and repatriated Nigeria to face charges bordering on terrorism and treason.

Ejiofor added that there was “every likelihood of connivance” in Kanu’s ordeal.

The lawyer stated these on Wednesday while speaking during an interview with Arise TV.

Ejiofor wondered why the commission had not visited Kanu since he was brought to Nigeria.

He noted that unlike Kanu’s 2015 arrest when the commission was regularly visiting him while in detention, the British Commission was paying lip service to helping him this time around.

He said, “I can confirm to you that the British High Commission is not doing much about this case. I can confirm to you that there is every likelihood of connivance in what happened to my client.

“Because some times in 2015 when my client was arrested I know how they were keeping in constant communication with him and visiting him regularly both when he was in DSS custody and when he was transferred to prison.

“But as at yesterday, a British national was arrested and till date, they have not visited him even when we have officially notified them of the situation.

“As at the time he was arrested, he was arrested as a British national because he had renounced his Nigerian citizenship over 5 years ago. And they are still talking about offering him consular services.”

Ejiofor warned the media to stop labelling Kanu’s travail in Kenya as an arrest, arguing that it was a clear case of abduction, illegal imprisonment, torture and extraordinary rendition.

“We are fully aware that the DSS of Nigeria has a history of gross violations of court orders. And the fact that Nnamdi Kanu was brought to court on June 29, 2021 without reference to us as lawyers that was being taken to court that day was part of that.

“They have the court order to produce him on 26th July, 2021. It is immaterial that the court would go on vacation that day. They should have produced him but didn’t produce him and they have that history. It is a clear violation of court orders,” Ejiofor said.

Biafran Struggle Now On Autopilot – IPOB Radio Host, Simon Ekpa

Finland-based member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has said the Biafran agitation is no longer within the reach of the members and supporters.

The  Radio Biafra broadcaster declared that the struggle for the actualisation of Biafra is in its “dangerous phase.”

Ekpa made the disclosure on Wednesday via a post on his official Facebook page.

Kanu, who is facing the trial of treasonable felony and terrorism, was slated to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday but could not be produced by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) as a result of alleged logistics reasons.

The incident has resulted in widespread criticisms and anxieties among concerned Nigerians who accused the Nigerian Government of deliberately delaying the trial to keep the separatist leader in detention.

Simon Ekpa, a Finnish who has been silent for a while, said he is set to change the narrative of the current struggle.

The post reads, “The Biafra struggle has entered the AUTOPILOT phase, a very dangerous phase that we have no control of what happens. To your tent oh Israel.

“I am Simon Ekpa, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s disciple on Biafra restoration. Changing the narrative of Yesterday.”
