Nigeria Special Forces loses two Soldiers, 7 others injured as they battle Boko Haram fighters in Chikingudu

Two soldiers of the Nigeria Special Forces Brigade were killed while others sustains various degrees of injuries as they move against Boko Haram fighters in Chikingudu, Borno State, Nigeria.

Troops of the Special Forces Brigade on Tuesday eliminated 33 Boko Haram fighters at Chikingudu.

Chikingudu is a community in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The terrorists were killed after troops, on a clearance mission in Missene, Hausari and Chikungudu villages, engaged them in a gun battle.

Two soldiers died, while seven soldiers sustained varying degrees.

Several high grade weapons and vehicles used by the Boko Haram insurgents were destroyed or recovered.

They include 25 AK-47 rifles, three anti-aircraft guns, three general-purpose machine guns, two automatic grenade launchers (AGL), two gun trucks, among others.

The troops are continuing clearance of the general area and other locations.
