The gesture was part of the events when President Buhari hosted Issoufou at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday. Referring to Issoufou as an illustrious leader, Buhari hailed Issoufou for the successful completion of his second tenure and winning the prestigious 2020 Mo Ibrahim prize for Achievement in African Leadership.

Nigeria’s number one citizen also showered encomiums on Issoufou for upholding democracy, improving the nation’s economy, and fostering a stronger bond between both neighbouring nations.
