Military forces successfully retrieve weapons and motorcycles from bandits in Kaduna

On Tuesday, the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army announced that its troops successfully recovered weapons and motorcycles from bandits in Kaduna. Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the division’s acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Kaduna.

Yahaya explained that, as part of their efforts to clear bandits from the forests of Kaduna, the troops collaborated with the Kaduna Vigilance Service. Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of bandits around the Dogon Dawa-Damari area in Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, the troops laid an ambush on Tuesday.

During the ensuing firefight, the bandits dispersed due to the superior firepower of the troops. Yahaya reported, “The troops exploited the general area and recovered one Bareta pistol, one AK 47 rifle, and one AK 47 rifle magazine.”

Furthermore, he mentioned another incident where troops deployed at Kwanar Mutua in Birnin Gwari LGA received intelligence on the presence of bandits. The troops swiftly moved to the area, engaged the criminals with overwhelming firepower, and forced them to flee into the nearby high ground. In the aftermath, the troops recovered three motorcycles the fleeing bandits abandoned.
