Fulani Herdsmen have killed at least twenty five persons, AUTHENTIC NEWS GIANT Reports in Ebonyi State, Nigeria
ANG learnt that the ugly incident happened at Egedegede Community, near Niger-Cem cement factory in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
A resident of the area who cried out to our correspondent said the herdsmen stormed their village on Monday’s evening, killing at least twenty five persons.
Fulani Herdsmen slaughtered so many people including the Catechist of Saint Charles Catholic parish Niger-Cem, Ishielu LGA in Ebonyi state.
According to her, “our village is currently under attack. About 25 persons were killed yesterday’s evening by Fulani herdsmen.”
“About five motorcycles were equally set ablaze and three farmlands destroyed, we need help”.
When asked how it started, she said trouble started last year when the herdsmen destroyed farmlands of the villagers.
“So about three Herdsman were killed that last year. It’s crystal clear that they came for revenge.”
Our correspondent gathered that Egedegede bounds Obegu, Amezu, Nkalaha and Eha-amufu (Enugu state) together.
The Fulani Herdsmen stormed the village with all manner of #ammunition after the people of the community complain bitterly of their cow destroying the farm produce of the old-aged women whom their source of living depends on the farm products.
“Their plea were to wipe the whole community including burning of every living being in the community. As at now, the people of Egedegede are yet to return to their various homes.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to speak with Ebonyi State Police Command proved abortive and no statement from the State Government.
