INEC takes official choice on Zamfara APC handling candidates
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take an interest in the National Assembly, governorship and state House of Assembly decisions in Zamfara state.
This was put forth known in an expression marked by Festus Okoye, Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, on Friday.
As indicated by the election umpire, the choice was come to after a judgment by the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday.
The announcement read: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reliably kept up that it will dependably obey court decisions and requests.
“On account of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, the Federal High Court, Abuja and the Zamfara State High Court issued clashing requests identifying with the investment of the APC in the two strands of decisions booked for 23rd February and ninth March 2019.
“While the previous decided that the APC, hosting neglected to lead valid party primaries can’t handle candidates in the said decision, the last concluded that it can handle candidates hosting directed legitimate valid party primaries.”
