Onifade Oyekanmi, known as Ife, has revealed the shocking details of his involvement in the murder of a 45-year-old Fulani woman named Usman Aminat, all in pursuit of money ritual. This harrowing incident occurred at his residence in Iyana Ajia, Ibadan, Oyo State, on March 13, 2024, as disclosed by Ife.
In his confession, Ife admitted to executing the crime alongside four other individuals: Oyebode Olalekan, aged 40; Ifayemi Ojeleke, aged 32; and Jamiu Lasisi, aged 40. The chilling sequence of events unfolded after Ife encountered the victim at a spiritual practitioner’s place, commonly known as a marabout.
According to Ife, the encounter led to Aminat’s offer to introduce him to another marabout in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. However, upon their arrival, they discovered that the marabout had departed for Kwara State. Subsequently, Aminat informed Ife of her return, prompting him to invite her to his residence in Ibadan.
Tragically, it was during this visit that Ife and his accomplices carried out their heinous act. Aminat was lured into the residence, where she met her demise at the hands of Ife and his cohorts. Ife confessed to the group collectively strangling Aminat to death, after which one of them dismembered her body. Shockingly, they proceeded to utilize certain organs from her body for their ritualistic purposes.
Their intended ritual, however, was left incomplete as they awaited instructions from a Muslim cleric who had initially proposed the ritual to Ife. Regrettably for them, before they could proceed further, they were apprehended by the authorities.
This chilling account is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with superstition and the lengths some individuals are willing to go to in pursuit of wealth and power. It also underscores the importance of swift and effective law enforcement in deterring such heinous crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice.
The tragic loss of Usman Aminat serves as a poignant reminder of the need for greater awareness and vigilance within our communities to prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future. May her soul rest in peace, and may justice prevail for her and all victims of senseless violence.
