Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received the Certificate of Return from the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) as the governor-elect of Imo State.
He was awarded the certificate on Wednesday, barely 24 hours after the Supreme Court nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of the state.
INEC had earlier announced that it was yet to receive the court verdict and hence could not present Uzodinman with a certificate of return.

Hours after the announcement was made, the electoral umpire was served with the court order, which it obeyed by presenting Uzodinma with a certificate of return after withdrawing that which was issued to Emeka Ihedioha.
