Heavy Tension at INEC Office Port- Harcourt (PICTURES)

As the State Election Draws near as enlisted by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).
The Situation Report on the location of the INEC office in Port- Harcourt Aba Road has been intense.

Mobile Police officers and Military Men were seen around the Commission’s Office.

Meanwhile, The Lane that leads directly to the INEC Office has been Blocked with Armoured Tanks making vehicular Movement inaccessible.

The Whole arena has been beefed up with Security Men as the development has caused Traffic Jam along the road (Aba Road).
Meanwhile, Some Commuters has Increased Fares for some distance.

A short distance which used to cost N50.00 before is currently somewhere in the range of N100.00 and N150.00, while numerous commuters who couldn’t bear the cost of it are taking to trekking.

It may interest to you to know that during the presidential and National Assembly Election in February, The Same issue has occurred where mobile Policemen were seen around the Area that is the INEC Office in Port Harcourt Aba Road. During that Security exercise, the Same resulted in gridlocks and also affected the hike in the price of distances.

We were made to understand that this is to make sure that the security of the INEC office in Port-Harcourt and Electoral Materials are safe and secured for the State Assembly and Guber Elections.

Speaking to some commuters in the area, an electorate who like to be identified as Prince Emenike said they are fully ready for the elections to come Saturday 9th of March, he also pleaded for Peace so as to enable a smooth process for the Polls.

Meanwhile the time this report is being filed some Political parties are still campaigning and chanting for their candidatures to be voted in into the various seats in the coming Governorship and State Assembly Elections.
