Fire razes warri market

A section of the well-known Igbudu Market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, has caught on fire, making it the second fire incident recorded in the Market within the last one month.

This happened about 3 pm on Sunday, the fire affected a part of the market housing several stores at the Hausa Quarters end of the market.

Witnesses mentioned that the two buildings had been gutted before the firefighters arrived at the scene

The fire was successfully put out by the Warri Fire Service, who got to the scene early enough to quench it.

Dr. Michael Tidi, the chairman of the Warri Local Government wasn’t happy with the behavior of some youths from the Igbudu community, who threw stones at the truck of the Warri Fire Service, for allegedly not answering to the distress calls as quickly as possible.
