His coming to Imo state will enable him attend two major events including the burial of the former Nigerian Minister for Establishment and pioneer Imo State chairman of PDP Chief I. D. Nwoga.

The said burial of Chief Nwoga is holding on Friday July 31, 2020 in Umuokrika, Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

AUTHENTIC NEWS GIANT learnt from the Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor Chibuike Onyeukwu  that Ihedioha’s home coming will also afford him the opportunity of participating in the long planned Imo PDP State Congress slated for Saturday August 1, 2020.

This was his first visit to the state six months after he lost the Governorship position through the controversial Supreme Court judgement that ceded power to Senator Hope Uzodimma as Governor of Imo State on January 14, 2020.

His entry into the state through Imo Airport took the people including the media by surprise, just as those who heard about his presence in the state thronged the airport and streets of Owerri to wave hands and have a glimpse of their hero.

The unannounced visit apparently was to avert a repeat of alleged blackmail by the incumbent Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, who stated that his earlier planned home coming on March 12, 2020 was to distablise the state.

Irked by the security alert against him Ihedioha, he personally wrote a letter to his supporters and PDP members, cancelling his visit to the state and decided to be home six months later.

Explaining why it took him too long to be home after he lost the Governorship position at the Supreme Court, the Chief Press Secretary Chibuike Onyeukwu attributed it to the total ban on interstate traveling and flight schedules by the Federal Government resulting from Covid-19 pandemic.
