The governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, appealed to the state’s House of Assembly to mandate the executive to access a loan of N5 billion from the federal government.

Zulum said the loan will enable the state to construct affordable houses in various communities destroyed by insurgents in Borno state.

Reading a letter address to the House by the governor, the speaker informed the lawmakers that Zulum said the state government has constructed houses in Auno, Mainok and Benisheikh in its effort to resettle internally displaced persons from Borno.

He also noted that the governor said the project was been hindered because of lack of funds.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker of the House of Representatives had donated drugs worth over N60 million to victims of insurgency in Borno state.

The speaker made the donations on Friday, September 20, after a visit to the internally displaced persons in the state.
