Bezos Surpasses Elon Musk to Reclaim Title of World's Richest Man

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reclaimed his position as the world’s richest person on Monday, displacing Elon Musk from the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. According to the tracker, Bezos’ net worth is currently valued at $200 billion, surpassing Elon Musk’s $198 billion.

Elon Musk, also the CEO of X (formerly Twitter) and SpaceX, has experienced a significant decline in wealth, with his riches plummeting by over $30 billion as Tesla’s share price has dropped by 25% in recent months. Moreover, Musk faced setbacks as a court-approved the nullification of his substantial compensation agreement with Tesla, initially valued at $55.8 billion and struck in 2018.

In contrast, Bezos, no longer at the helm of Amazon, has profited from the e-commerce giant’s surging stock price. Despite divesting $8.5 billion in stocks recently, Bezos remains the company’s largest shareholder.

According to the rankings, Bernard Arnault, the CEO of the luxury group LVMH, retains his position as the third-richest person globally, with a net worth of $197 billion.
