Anglican Primate Expresses Confidence: Nigeria Will Rise Again

Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and regain its position among the community of nations.

Speaking to journalists at the Thanksgiving Service marking the conclusion of the 2024 second session of the 12th Synod in Abuja, Ndukuba emphasized the need for divine intervention to address the siege Nigeria is facing.

“We are facing various challenges, surrounded by forces like wickedness, corruption, and nepotism,” Ndukuba remarked. “These are formidable armies that we cannot defeat on our own. It will take God’s intervention for us to succeed. However, I believe Nigeria has the potential to rise again and reclaim its position in the world.”

The Primate called on Nigerians to genuinely repent from their evil ways and turn back to God for forgiveness and healing. He emphasized the importance of faith and adherence to the principles of various religions in bringing about positive change in the nation.

Ndukuba also encouraged individuals facing spiritual, economic, or health-related challenges to trust God for deliverance.

In his sermon, Retired Rev. Johnson Atere echoed the call for national repentance and faith in God’s word. He attributed Nigeria’s challenges to the failure of leaders to heed God’s instructions and the counsel of His servants. Despite the difficulties, Atere emphasized the power of God’s word to deliver the nation from its predicament.

Overall, the messages from both Ndukuba and Atere underscored the importance of spiritual renewal and faith in overcoming Nigeria’s challenges and ushering in a brighter future for the nation.
