Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation, though admitted that Busola once attended the same church with his family.

The clergyman consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil cases against Busola.

However, Dakolo, in a statement he personally signed, urged Nigerians who are victims to come out and get justice.

The statement reads: “Busola and I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support and most importantly action, following her story on Friday.

“We thank you Nigerians. We thank you most deeply for helping make this moment truly count.

“We also thank the team of people who have been helping us since Busola decided to tell the story. Because of them, Busola’s story has sparked a movement called #NotInMyChurch -to help other survivors of sexual abuse in the church find help, justice and healing. I am grateful to Enough is Enough @eienigeria for helping to drive this movement.

“Please upload stories about abuse or rape, especially in the church on notinmychurch.ng and to other partner with or support the work they are doing to help survivors speak out, find help or get justice, please email info@notinmychurch.ng.

“We can truly make this moment matter beyond just Busola’s story. She is speaking on behalf of those who haven’t yet been ble to speak and the thousands who have vowed now begun to find their voices.”

COZA: God is cleansing his church – Nathaniel Bassey reacts to Busola Dakolo’s rape allegation against Pastor Fatoyinbo

Nathaniel Bassey, popular Nigerian gospel musician and trumpeter, has weighed in on the ongoing rape saga involving the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Bassey said the current rape saga was an indication that God was cleansing the church.

Recall that wife of popular musician, Timi Dakolo, Busola, had alleged that the COZA founder forcefully raped her when she was young.

The mother-of-three narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way into her when she was a teenager.

Fatoyinbo, who denied the allegation, however, admitted that Busola once attended the same church with his family.

The clergyman consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil cases against Busola.

Reacting to the saga, Bassey in an Instagram post wrote: “Thanks for joining the Live session. Highlights

“1. Even in this turbulent times. God is purging His church. And things that can be shaken are shaken.

“2. The care to not react, but respond after careful consideration. And the importance of following the word.

“3. The need to have the elders go to the root of this. No sweeping under the carpets this time. As the blood of Jesus only works in the light. 1 John 1:7.

“I also called on other people with evidence to come forward. And just to add, if need be, redress must be sort in the court of the land.

“I also mentioned that this was a good opportunity to bring to the fore sexual abuse going on in church. Eg, RAPE.

“I called for continued prayers and not just mere talking. And prayers should be along this line, THAT GOD’S PURPOSE for this be fully established and implemented.

“Also, stated that this is a wake-up call for every minister, MUSIC OR WORD leading a double life. As there seems to be a change in status quo.

“The end of all of this must be the salvation of soul. Reading from 1 Cor 5, Paul speaking concludes by saying this.

James 1:19, James 3:15-18, I Cor 6, 1 Cor 5, Proverbs 18:13. I John 1:7.”

COZA: Omoni Oboli reacts to Busola Dakolo rape allegation, cites incoherency

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, has said there were some ‘incoherency’ in the rape allegations levelled against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, by wife of singer Timi Dakolo.

Omoni said this on Monday evening while reacting to rape allegation Mrs. Dakolo, Busola that the COZA founder forcefully raped her when she was young.

In her post on Instagram, Omoni said she stands with Busola but that there were some inconsistencies in her claims, which she believed, was born out of ”truthfulness”.

She wrote: “I don’t know where to start concerning the story that’s still unfolding as I write. The Bible warns us to “be quick to hear, be slow to speak, and be slow to wrath”, and going by my personal experience of seeing how quickly many took sides without first getting all the facts, weighing it against the character of all the parties involved, given our antecedents, and then drawing conclusions from evidence and an objective comparative analysis of the accounts, rather than from emotions, envy, the thrill of seeing strife, I have waited to digest the whole matter first.

“What’s her motive for speaking out? Was it just to spite the pastor in question? Was it to destroy his reputation, or gain some financial advantage? Was it to build followership through the scandal that would surely come, not knowing that the pendulum could swing in either direction, for or against her? What exactly would spur a wife of a reputable and beloved entertainer, a mother, a business woman, with a beautiful life, coveted by many, to come out to make this kind of accusation?

“Given her antecedent of being a calm, ‘dramaless’ queen (unless Timi says otherwise), with no history of seeking attention or being overly dramatic (at least not publicly), how did she get to this point of going public at such a time as this simply to make ‘spurious’ accusations against a ‘man of god’, as some have said in a bid to sound ‘objective’?

“I listened to the story, and because I know her husband and his personality, I restrained myself from trying to weigh in based on the emotions that came flooding in, but here’s the thing, there was some incoherency in some of the claims, not because I believe she lied about them, but in my opinion was born out of the truthfulness of the real account.

“ Why do I say that? Because unless you planned your own rape, the accounts are expected to sound incredible and spurious, and I suspect that’s why we don’t have so many convictions in many rape cases.

“Is there a manual, or rapist playbook that’s being distributed to all would-be rape victims (aka all women, and some boys and men) that I missed that gives point by point descriptions.”

Meanwhile, following the controversies generated by the allegation, Fatoyinbo had disclosed his decision to step down, momentarily.

COZA: TY Bello also opens up on how she was sexually abused

Dakolo rape case

Nigerian singer and photographer, TY Bello, has become the latest celebrity to recount how she was sexually abused.

A lot of popular faces have found strength to talk about their past, since Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola, came out to accuse Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) of raping her as a teenager.

Although Fatoyinbo denied the allegation, the pastor has been widely criticised, with some Nigerians on Twitter asking him to step down — which he “honourably” did.

TY Bello took to Instagram to break her silence about being sexually abused at a younger age. She also narrated how God rescued her years after.

“I remember how the silence I had to keep after the abuse slowly killed me .. I also remember the relief I found in my relationship God so early.

“That really was my rescue ..yet for decades I could never find my voice on the matter .. I was still afraid ..Mostly because I felt it may have been the fault of my seven-year-old self .. somehow… Fast forward .. almost thirty years later ..I knew better .. and was ‘big’ enough..

“I understood the importance of stepping up when it was time to share my story .. and ..I did in my @kemiadetiba ‘s #kingwomen interview .. it surprised me, however, how hard it was to talk about sexual abuse after so many years .. but it was such a relief ..But soon after came the resistance.

“In sharing ..I faintly began tasting the shame again .. that same feeling of naked ‘dirtiness ‘’ I had as a child .. it hadn’t completely gone away. It also became clear .. that real stories of sexual abuse still sounded like NOVELTY.. I saw headline after headline .. even in broken English .. this my ‘confession ‘.that ‘ Dem ‘SPOIL ‘ me when I be small pikin’..

“It didn’t feel good that it was so ‘sensational’ as I was aware of how massive a plague this was ..WE CLEARLY ARE NOT TALKING ENOUGH ..too many children sexually abused .. too many sex crimes ..especially now .. right under our noses.

“I had to push past the inner conflict that talking about it was ‘unnecessary’ … it was too long ago ..too ‘Oyinboish ‘to discuss publicly .. ‘. ‘Then of course ..that talking about it now would make it seem like my family failed me as a child .. but they didn’t .. and could never have known .. I had mastered SILENCE !they were victims too.

“Every abuse story is different but it is SHAME that makes them complicated..

“Sadly, the shame hardly lies with the perpetrators .. So I’ve learnt that it’s time to nail shame right where it belongs ..Far away from the wronged .. Bringing them instead to healing, justice and freedom.

“We must teach every child the power of their voices, Apparently, we must teach adults too … and more importantly, we must learn to listen .. understand and know that Sex is not a dirty word .. but DENIAL is ..” she wrote.

Busola vs Fatoyinbo: Somebody trying to cover up something – Nollywood’s Steph-Nora reacts to rape claim against COZA Pastor

Veteran Nollywood actress, Steph-Nora Okere, has reacted to the rape allegations against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Recall that Busola, the wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo, had narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way into her when she was a teenager.

Fatoyinbo, who denied the allegation, however, admitted that Busola once attended the same church with his family.

The clergyman consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil cases against Busola.

Following the controversies generated by the allegation, Fatoyinbo had disclosed his decision to step down momentarily as COZA senior pastor.

Reacting to the saga, the veteran actress wondered why Busola continued associating with the clergyman after the incident.

Recalling how she walked away from a major film shoot due to a near-rape incident, Okere stressed that someone was trying to cover-up some truth.

In a post on her Facebook page, Okere wrote: “RAPE SAGA ISH: I just want to know how it is possible for a man to rape a woman three different times in a house full of people and not just that, the rape victim continues worshipping in the church, gets wedded by the pastor, gets wedding car gift from the pastor and still stays on till now.

“I am so miffed. I walked away from a major film shoot, exited Nollywood because of a near-rape incident. So am wondering, what is the catch in all these?

“The said victim should make it good by also opening up to her husband on another gurry incident in her past, not just this. I rather think someone is trying to cover up something with this ish.

“I’m sitting and waiting for the end of it.”

COZA: What Pastor Fatoyinbo’s stepping aside over rape allegation means – Regina Askia

Veteran Nollywood actress, Regina Askia, has said that the decision of the senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo to step aside from the pulpit over rape allegations was a small victory for those who have suffered sexual abuse.

Recalls that Pastor Fatoyinbo yesterday announced a leave of absence from the pulpit in order to clear his name from the rape scandal involving him and Bukola, wife of a popular soul singer, Timi Dakolo.

This followed a protest march by a civil society group, ‘Church Too’ movement demanding justice for Busola Dakolo and rape victims allegedly abused sexually by the embattled cleric.

Reacting to the development, Regina Askia wrote: “The power of Social media. Thank you, everyone, for sending out a loud and clear message demanding for accountability and justice for Mrs Dakolo .

“This is a small victory for her and all others who suffered rape.

“We can only push on for the law to take its full course from here on, towards an indictment or exoneration.

“Either way, her voice was heard. Thanks to you all.”

Amidst the ongoing rape allegations against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo, his wife, Modele has declared that no one on earth can replace him.

She said this while addressing members of the church at the ongoing one-week prayer and fasting at the church headquarters in Guzape, Abuja.

Recall that wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo, Busola, had narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way into her when she was a teenager.

However, addressing church members, Modele said Fatoyinbo remained their pastor despite the allegation.

She said: “Pastor doesn’t want me to talk. It’s fine. I just want to tell you, pastor, because we have strangers, that on behalf of your sons and daughters…we have strangers in this house — strange sons and daughters. But God will close the heavens over them in the name of Jesus.

“I just want to say we love you. You are our pastor; nobody can take your place. It’s always good to assure people that you love them, not only when you feel that everything is fine with them, even much more when you feel that they are not (loved).

“You know your friends when you’re in trouble. So, we don’t want you to doubt in your heart. As for Modele, until I see Jesus, my surname cannot change. So, you better calm down.

“We love you and you have always taught us well. You have always stood on that stage to teach us that even though anybody might be coming from anywhere, God loves them and accepts them. You have never preached condemnation; you have never preached that we cannot change or make it.

“Nobody on earth can take your place in our lives in spite of ’20 years’? Where are you coming from? Nobody can take your place.”

BREAKING: Former COZA staff narrates how Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo allegedly raped her [VIDEO]

A former staff of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, has again accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her.

WATCH VIDEO…

The lady who hid her identity and her face while narrating her story in an interview with Y!TV said the incident happened in 2017 at the pastor’s house.

She said she was an employee of COZA who worked directly with the pastor and was also a member of the church.

According to her, Pastor Fatoyinbo asked her to come to his house outside Nigeria on the particular day (a Thursday morning) to take some instructions and go for an errand but the scenario changed after he stopped discussing the church and grabbed her towards him.

She said: “Biodun Fatoyinbo raped me sometime in September 2017 at his apartment outside Nigeria. We were discussing in his office on a couch before I knew it, he dragged me towards him.

“He took off my zipper, one hand putting me to the couch; at that point, I didn’t know what to do because I had to fight sexual abuse as a teenager. I felt I had put myself in the space.

“Everything moved quickly from there and then he started trying to pull me into a hug and started kissing me which I found shocking. I had known him as a spiritual leader and I was about to witness the opposite of everything that I thought he stood for.

“I was too shocked. It was a couch. I don’t know whether I should hold on to something. I remember telling him continuously ‘you can’t do that, you can’t do that.’

“I just kept telling him to stop but he kept telling me to relax. If you know him, you would know he is a weak person but has the appearance of strength, he was not moved by my pushing and did not relent to stop, after that he took off his pants and did what he wanted to do. As soon as that was over and he saw I was in tears, he apologised and he was sorry and didn’t mean to but I was just interested in getting out of there.

“After the incident, I still had to work with him, it happened in the last quarter of 2017 but I still stayed till July 2018. All that time, I already had a disconnect in the church because I was just there because this is what I was committed to.

“He flipped from sweet amazing person who was my mentor to something else. I remember that for the first time I saw a completely different person

“I saw him as someone who showed you what you want to see. When you meet him or interact with him, who you see is that charismatic leader who tells you to aspire, go out and do amazing things, he tried to appear like someone who understands the word but the person I met that day was completely different even though he apologised, I vowed not to talk about it again.

“After that time, he went back to Nigeria, I was not in Nigeria at that time, I still had to do things for the church despite the fact that I felt I no longer belong here.

“Pretty much, I didn’t go to his apartment to have sex with me but for work. I told him to stop, he raped me and I didn’t give my consent, as a matter of fact, I never saw him as anything than a pastor.

“I stayed in the church because I thought they were trying to do things differently but then, they were been deliberate, they are aware of how much power they have, they know how much people adore them and how important and witty their words are and they exploit them.

“There is a culture of silence in the church, its’ supposed to be a safe place, but it is not.”
