Fancy Acholonu, the ex-fiancée of popular actor Alexx Ekubo, has asked for forgiveness after calling off their wedding.
She said she has been wallowing in grief since she parted ways with him.
The US-based model tendered a heartfelt apology to her former beau, admitting she overreacted by calling off their wedding.
She confessed that the movie star still has her heart because she never stopped loving him.
Acholonu also apologised to Ekubo’s family and friends, wishing they forgave her as she has since learnt her lessons.
Sharing a photo with her ex-beau, Acholonu said: “Like our shirt says, Nothing makes sense when we’re apart @alexxekubo you still have my heart.
“I miss you, I love you, and I’m truly sorry for all the hurt & pain you and your family went through with our breakup.
”My actions in how I handled things was out of my character. I should have controlled my emotions and not been so overreactive.
“I said too much, I did too much. Please forgive me. I’ve learned my lesson on how to handle situations better.
”I haven’t expressed myself properly. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable and say you, your family, & friends still mean the world to me.
“Losing you has felt like grief. Love heals. #FalexxForever.”
In May 2021, Alexx Ekubo proposed to Acholonu in Los Angeles, United States of America.
The actor broke the news on his Instagram account with a picture of himself and Fancy.
The picture shared by Alexx was captioned: “I asked the love of my life @fancyacholonu to marry me…”
Confirming Ekubo’s announcement, Acholonu responded in a separate post on her official Instagram account, “& I said YES to the Love of my life @alexxekubo.”
But three months after their engagement, speculations about their relationship hitting the rocks surfaced after Fancy unfollowed Alexx and also deleted their joint Instagram page which was created to showcase their love.
Confirming the breakup, Fancy in her official Instagram page, did not give a reason for the breakup but urged Nigerians to respect her privacy.
She said: “Hey guys, I am writing to inform you that I have ended my relationship, engagement and I have called off the wedding with Alex Ekubo.
“I am aware this may be a shock to many people. I made the best decision for myself because it is important that everyone finds their happiness and lives in their truth.
“At this time, my family and I ask you to please respect our privacy. Thank you so much.”
