Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari met with Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the Africa Development Bank (AFDB) today at the State House, Abuja.
In attendance was the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.
The Ministers of Finance, Zainab Ahmed and Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, were also present.
At the end of the parley, Adesina declined an interview with reporters.
The AfDB president faces opposition to his re-election by the United States.
The Department of Treasury had called for an independent investigation of Adesina.
But this was after he was cleared by the bank’s ethics committee.

Earlier, former African leaders led by Olusegun Obasanjo backed Adesina.
