The Lagos State Police Command has started looking into the circumstances that led to the death of a man named Anosikwa Patrick, who was reportedly stabbed by a policeman at the Skymall shopping mall in Ajah, Lagos. The officer involved has been identified as Inspector Taofeek, and he has been taken into custody, as confirmed by SP Benjamin Hudenyin, the command’s spokesperson, in a statement released to Vanguard.

The statement reads: “The Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into the events surrounding the death of Anosikwa Patrick, who a police officer allegedly stabbed at the Skymall shopping mall in Ajah on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The mall’s manager and chief security officer are currently in custody to assist with the ongoing investigation. The police officer involved has been identified as Inspector Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has instructed the detectives of the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure that the culprit is apprehended. Updates on the progress of the investigation will be provided to the public.”
