David Adeleke AKA Davido has opened up on what led to the death of his mother and also why he haven’t married Chioma.

Davido in a viral interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Wednesday said his mother who was from Benin City died of cardiac arrest on his father’s birthday.

He said he was 10-year-old when the sad incident occurred and her death affected him years later.

“I was about 10 to 11 years old when she died. She died on my father’s birthday. Honestly, it was just cardiac arrest. Even if it was going to happen, I would not have known because I was about 10 or 11 years old.

“She was not really sick. She used to get sick once in a while but it was nothing serious.

He further said that he sees his mother in his fiancée, Chioma, adding that If she were alive he would have bought her so many diamonds and houses.

Why I haven’t married Chioma – Davido

Popular singer, David Adeleke AKA Davido has blamed the coronavirus pandemic for the delay in getting married to his fiancee, Chef Chioma.

Davido in a viral interview on Wednesday said he would have gotten married this year but the deadly virus messed up his plans.

He further stated that he would get married next year.

Davido said, ”Corona messed up our wedding plans but I have decided sometime next year we will get married.

”Right now I want Chioma to focus on her brand and business.”

Recall that Davido had stirred reactions after he unfollowed his fiancee, Chioma Rowland and everyone on Instagram.

This led to reports that they may have allegedly ended their relationship.

‘My siblings are richer than me’ – Davido

Nigerian frontline artiste, David Adeleke, aka Davido or OBO, has revealed that his siblings are richer than him.

Davido who gave reasons for pursuing a musical career said this during a live interview on Wednesday.

The ‘FEM’ crooner said he is only doing music because he loves the craft.

“If I don’t do music today, I will still be rich. My siblings are richer than me.

“If I work in my dad’s power plant I will be a billionaire in dollars. I am only doing music because I love the craft.”

Davido further revealed that he would only allow his children pursue a musical career if they are really good at it.
